Dolomites Trekking
« on: January 25, 2013, 05:57:09 AM »
I am a long distance backpacker and like to do a major route each year. However I have been put off attempting a very interesting trip through Northern Italy (Dolomites) due to the lack of good GPS mapping.
Question is can you recommend any Italian mappinmg that will always allow me to take and use my GPS if I get into "difficulties"?
Having completed the Haute Routes in Pyrenees and Alps, the GR5 and many others I am running out of places in France, Switzerland, Austria and Germany!!

You could check these also:

As an alernative, you could use an Android device with satnav receiver and OziExplorer for Android installed on it. Then, if you have paper topomaps, you're OK!

Success !

Richnan4, you could try the local tourist office, we did in Chamonix and they were marvellous.
