Title: Waterproof iPhone/iPad cases
Post by: 99ster on January 22, 2013, 10:28:21 AM
Expensive, but impressive waterproof/dirt/shock protection (to Military Standard 810F-516 and IP68) for iPhone/iPad:

If they add a battery pack (consisting of standard, easily replaceable batteries) which powers the iPhone through its external power connector, then we are coming close to an alternative for a satnav, don't we?

And I would think something like a 7" tablet with digital mapping would be a very interesting tool as well - properly protected in a case like that...especially with a 'Retina' display to view the maps.  And the battery time does seem to be much better on tablets than smartphones...
