well im glad to hear that your happy with the satmap  .the whole durability thing was an issue with me ,,if you drop an iphone you have no communication or nav aid.myself and my hiking buddys do a good bit of night nav to keep the skills honed,and to lose gnss and comms in one hit at night is not good

A colleague at work has one of these and really rates it, but you must get their waterproof sleeve, otherwise if it gets wet, you need to get it replaced – which evidently the manufacturers do without question.

thank you pete  i was using my i phone in a sandwich bag in case it got wet the active 10 came with a spare screen shield but ill see if i can get a waterproof cover for it .............thanks for tip!!

Hi Automan (and welcome), Pete is correct on both points: the A10+ will withstand light rain but must be protected from heavy rain, and the manufacturers, Satmap, offer excellent customer service in repairing/replacing problem satnavs.
