I've got several sets of these boxes from Sainsbury's.
Been using them for a couple of years. Apart from making up various first aid kits I use them for food and other bits and pieces that I want to be able to find in my pack quickly. Great for keeping squashy food in once piece. Have even worked out how to make "box sized bread" for box sized sarnies.
Boxes are easy to pack, always in the same place in my pack so I know exactly where to find them. Great for taking any rubbish home too.

Just back from a couple of hours Nordic walking in the very muddy local woods. Sky's as black as night but it's actually stopped raining.
After a soak in the bath we'll be chilling out with an Italian and some nice wine tonight.
Then it's all go for the turkey fest tomorrow.

I get into serious trouble and suffer at least a week of purgatory for taking 1 or 2 ladies for an afternoon of nav practice.
Maybe I'd be safer with some hairy a**** soldiers?

I'm always on the lookout for faffage (great word) and rabbits whenever I take groups out on any terrain.
Whatever you say or do there's always going to be one who does the whole thing, overdressed and too fast at the start, then slow and cold later.
Personally I like to start out cool, even after some stretching, and wearing exactly what I want to have on about 45 to 60 minutes in.
Maybe that's a think too far for some people? But for me it works most times unless there is a big change in conditions.

Woolite is definitely the best thing for washing merino stuff. Equally import is to wash at 30 degrees other wise you can shrink it.
Been using Smartwool phd socks for a while and am very pleased with how comfortable they are and how well they last.
Although I have several pieces of Icebreaker kit I have been trying RAB MeCo recently. It's 65% merino and 35% mix of coconut and polyester fibres. Very comfortable, warm and dries much faster than Icebreaker. No odour problems after several days wear. Also a fair bit cheaper than Icebreaker.
