A large military satnav jamming exercise is to take place in Wales at the Sennybridge Training area, which lies just outside the Brecon Beacon National Park to the north west of the county town of Brecon.
The jammers will be located within 5km of N52° 00.881’ W003° 38.518’ (SN873365) and be active between 11–15, 18-22, and 25-29 June 2012 inclusive, between 0900 BST and 1800 BST.
Whilst multiple frequencies will be tested, the L1 carrier, the one civilian satnavs employ, will be affected.
Most of this area is restricted, as it is used for artillery and infantry training, however, the proposed wattage for the jamming is quite high so it may well extend beyond.
As always, carry alternative navigastional equipment if your are there, not just during these specified times, BUT at any time
