General Discussion / Was Lyle Coaching Notre Dame Last Night?
« on: November 25, 2012, 01:37:08 PM »
I turned on the Notre Dame/USC football game last night and what did these old eyes see but Lyle Brotherton coaching Notre Dame. The real coach Brian Kelly looks soooooooo much like Lyle that I had to take a long second look to make sure. They say everyone has a double someplace in the world and Lyle's is Brian Kelly. :)

Hi guys, I've seen and heard the term "gates" used by Lyle and others. What exactly is a "gate" and could you give me some examples and how to use them. Thanks!

New Member Introductions / Hello Forum Members
« on: November 12, 2012, 08:20:15 PM »
Hello from Albany, New York! I'm 74 years old and have never take a recreational hike in my life, but have taken several mandated by the U.S. Marine Corp. While I'm only 74 my legs are 100 so I'm not a hiker, but I love reading about it and I have a vivid imagination. I just purchased Lyle's book and a Suunto M3G compass with several maps of the Adarondack Mt. Range here in New York and every day I sit here in my home and plan a hike, take baring, get lost and get found etc., so you guys keep doing what you're doing and allow me to easedope and take these trips with you. Ok?
